An irresistible song about an alien cyclops descends to earth to find a job in a group of Rock N 'Roll starring Sheb Wooley , a comedian / singer also known for his roles cowboy in movies (he played in including High Noon and The Outlaw Josey Wales ).
Anecdotally, Wooley is also the actor who create the Wilhelm scream, a yell used by editors of sound effects in more 200 films as much by tradition as by running gag.
The song was a huge success in 1950 and was referenced by the Big booper , in addition to being particularly taken by Judy Garland and The Chipmunks (whose creator Ross Bagdasarian, Sr. . had popularized the method of accelerated voice as that used for the Purple People Eater with these successes Witch Doctor and The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Do not Be Late) , while both released in 1958).
